On Monday, the Natick Center Commuter Rail Station on the Framingham/Worcester line re-opened with a ribbon-cutting and dedication from community leaders. The station was upgraded with handicapped-accessible platforms and upgraded infrastructure. Officials also re-dedicated the station’s pedestrian bridge to the late Natick postal carrier, Richard Walker.

Advisory Board Deputy Director Hanna Switlekowski joined state and local leaders, transportation officials, and advocates for the ribbon cutting. Speaking at the celebration were Governor Healey, Secretary of Transportation Monica G. Tibbits-Nutt, Senate President Karen Spilka, 5th Middlesex District Rep. David Linsky, MBTA GM Phil Eng, Natick Select Board Chair Kathryn Coughlin, and Jennifer Harnish, Executive Director of the Mass. Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
