The MBTA Advisory Board congratulates the Baker/Polito Administration for its appointment of a new MBTA Board of Directors. “The appointment of 5 new Board of Directors today is a necessary first step towards addressing the MBTA’s numerous problems” said Executive Director Brian Kane. “The new Board is a critical step in building on the strong foundation laid by the FMCB. It will have many challenges and will need to go well beyond the reforms put in place in recent years to ensure that the MBTA is safe and solvent.” The MBTA Advisory Board represents the 176 cities and towns in the MBTA service area that are contributing $180 million in operating support to the MBTA this year.
