Brian Kane, executive director of the MBTA advisory board, said it’s worthwhile for the agency to pursue the platform upgrades on the Green Line, because its branches may not run entirely on Type 10 cars for years.
“You can argue that it’s not great to redo in a decade,” he said. “But the work being done now allows the T to have universal accessibility 10 years faster than it otherwise would.”
